With the Jets starting this season at 2-2, it is clear that this is not what Rex Ryan had in mind.
They are struggling to get anything going offensively, their pass rush is nearly non existent, and now the New York Jets are plagued with injuries. Among the injured tonight are Santonio Holmes (out for the season with Lisfranc injury), Darrelle Revis (Torn ACL), Stephen Hill (Hamstring), Dustin Keller (Hamstring), as well as others.
The big question tonight: Who will step up for the banged up Jets?
Defensive end Quinton Coples has a chance to make an impact on tonight's game against the Houston Texans. Coples was the 16th overall pick in this year's draft out of North Carolina. The 6'6'' defensive end was a two time First Team All-ACC (2010,2011) award winner.
Coples hasn't done much as far as defensive production at this point in the season, only going in during passing situations. However, Rex Ryan recently said that he has liked Coples' work in practice, and expects to get him in to the game more. The Jets currently only have 5 sacks on the season, ranking them 30th in the league in sacks. The Jets quickly need a solution to their poor pass rush, and Quinton Coples has the opportunity to be that solution.
